Miracles

So the other night at Tough Questions, we had the question come up about “If God is real, why doesn’t he do miracles anymore?” and afterwards I thought why couldn’t I take a crack at that question.

In my life, God has done so many miracles. In fact, as Taesub said, every heartbeat is a miracle. For my life, this is extremely true. 18 years ago, I was born with what  is called a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, or CDH. What this means is that for the first two weeks of my life, I had a hole in my diaphragm.Eventually my stomach and intestines moved their way up into my lung cavity and deflated my left lung, displaced my heart and almost deflated my right lung as well. I was in Gillette when this happend, and there are absolutely no doctors in the world yet trained on how to treat CDH. After going into cardiac arrest twice, and several hours of surgery late from local physicians, God was able to literally bring me back to life. What normally kills hundreds of babies each year, normally at birth, God kept me alive through. Most survivors with CDH end up suffering constant lung problems such as Asthma, Bronchitis, and Pneumonia, but I am glad to say that God has almost completely eradicated any of those problems, and only on rare occasions now do I ever get sick from those. God had taken me, healed me by what doctors and newspapers can only call a miracle, and has given me the gift of music all to prove his glory. and thats what I intend to do.

If you have a miracle that you would like to share about what God has done for you, feel free to post it as a comment bellow.

God Bless

Carsten

  1. He allows me to work with and hang out with very cool people everyday so that we can encourage eachother to be better advocates of Him. He also gives me the strength to get up every morning and face my own personal problems with a smile on my face. It is amazing how difficult it can be to keep smiling through the tough times, but He empowers me. My mom ran off the slippery roads last Friday and wasn’t even hurt. She was able to drive back onto the interstate and come home. Praise God for the little things and the big things!
